What is Next Step?
(Tuesday & Thursday 4pm-5:30pm)
The Next Step program builds upon foundation social skills,
working on life skills through community-based activities in a supportive environment with qualified staff.
Who is the group for?
This program is for children aged 10-18 years old who are ready to put their social skills in to practice out in the community.
Benefits of Next Step?
The group will focus on building skills such as problem solving, decision making, following instructions, planning and preparation skills, handling money, public transport skills ano increasing independence and confidence in the community.
What does a session involve?
Qualified staff will take the group to multiple activities and experiences in the community to build on their social skills and confidence. Some examples are, shopping, bowling, bush walks, café, Painting class and ferry rides.
When does it commence?
The group will commence at the beginning of each term and run weekly from 4:00-5:30pm.
What is the cost to attend?
The cost for the 9 sessions is $700 per term. The cost of this group can be claimed using NDIS funding.
